Recent Updates 2008

The Historical Society of Glastonbury would like to thank the Town for generously installing a new high-efficiency furnace at the Museum on the Green. This will save the Society a lot of money in heating costs.  The new high-efficiency furnace that the Society installed at the Welles Chapman Tavern cut our usage there by over 50%. We hope that the same will be true at the Museum! 

The Town also came to our aide by evaluating and fixing a lighting problem with the chandeliers at the Museum. They had been poorly installed and after smelling wires burning we shut them off until they could be inspected. The Town found that all four needed to be rewired.  We thank the Town for their continued help in safeguarding Glastonbury’s history for the future.
