Old Structures: New Uses

To benefit the Education & Preservation Programs of the Society

This walkable tour explores the evolving history of the Village of South Glastonbury, featuring 13 sites whose uses have changed over the centuries.  Visit the oldest church structure in town which is now a community library.  Tour the Hollister Bake House, now a residence.  Check out Dave’s barn -- now his art studio.  A former school became a residence and is now an office building.  Cotton Hollow, which was a self-sustaining village unto itself during its industrial years of water power, will feature current homes and an interpreter at the old Cotton Mill ruins.  The circuit is 2.3 miles of enjoyable historic and scenic roads.
