THE DESCRIPTION BELOW IS
ABOUT OUR LAST AUCTION WHICH
WAS IN 2008
IF YOU HAVE ITEMS WHICH
YOU WANT THE SOCIETY TO
EVALUATE FOR OUR 2010
AUCTION PLEASE CALL THE
MUSEUM AT 860-633-6890
The Auction at the Welles
Shipman Ward House Saturday,
May 17, 2008 co-chaired by Donna Henrikson and Henry and
Janet von Wodtke was a great
success. The Antique Auction
netted the Society $8,342.
The weather was beautiful
and we had 93 bidders. The
success is a reflection of
the hard work of the
committee chaired by Donna
Henrikson and Henry & Janet
von Wodtke, the many
volunteers, consignors and
several consignors who
gifted their items. I would
also like to give special
thanks to the following:
* Gil Tyler & Anne O’Connor
who went out and evaluated
all the consignments in
addition to many other
duties
*
Auctioneer: Joe Kabe
* Wine donated by
Jeff & Deb Werner
* Flowers donated &
arranged by Harry White
* Security and
traffic by Bob DiBella and
Mike Roberts
It was
a fun, hectic and wonderful
day! We plan to have
another Auction in 2010 so
if you are considering
selling some of your
antiques please consider our
Auction.
Since
Donna will be President of
the Society during the next
Auction; Chuck Stuart will
be added as a co-chairman.
Historically the auction has
two purposes, a fundraiser
and an outlet for members to
consign items they no longer
want or need. We believe it
continues to serve the
Society and its members
well.
