35th ANNUAL ANTIQUES FESTIVAL

Saturday, August 2

The Antique Festival has consistently been our most successful fundraiser due to all of the hardworking people who make the event a great success. Volunteer positions include:  booth setup and takedown, field setup and takedown, publicity, brochure ads and text, signage, getting the dealers situated on the field and helping them when in need, ticket sales, booth sales, coffee and doughnut sales, finances and Museum monitoring.  To volunteer, please call Jim at the Museum 633-6890

 DONATIONS NEEDED!!

It’s not too early to start collecting items for the Society’s Booth.  China, glassware, furniture, jewelry, anything taking up your valuable space could be what someone else is looking for. Please help the Historical Society’s Booth with a donation!  We are looking for old and new; good, used knick-knacks; and “treasures”.

Also, please let your family, friends and neighbors know that we need items for the booth! You may drop your items off at the Museum on Mondays Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 A.M. - 4 P.M or we will pick them up at your convenience.  Please have all donations in by July 19!

DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE?  Please call the Booth co-chairmen David & Debbie Lemieux (633-5750) or Jim Bennett (633-6890).

Dealer Contracts for 2008

Dear Antiques Dealers:

We are very pleased to offer you a contract for the 35th Annual Historical Society of Glastonbury’s Antiques Festival on the Green. The show will be held Saturday,

August 2, 2008 rain or shine on Glastonbury’s historic Town Green.

Show hours are: Early Bird 7 AM - 9 AM, General Admission 9 AM - 4 PM.

The Society’s booth opens at 9 AM.

This diversified show will continue to feature an excellent, quality mix of:

country, art deco, textiles, paper, folk art, furniture, quilts,

nautical, architectural, ceramics, jewelry, paintings, silver, glass,

antique clothing, and advertising etc.

The food station is moving to the eastside of the field away from the main entrance. This will help pull customers to the other end of the field.  In the shady spot vacated by the food station near the Museum there are 5 new spaces. So if you are looking for a shady spot, this new area is now available.

Some trees have been removed from the field by the Town, so make sure your spot has or has not trees as you like.

Our primary commitment to you, our dealers, is to continue to advertise wisely to preserve the gate. Local and regional print, and television will again be utilized, with each outlet continuing to be analyzed for effectiveness annually. We would like to thank those who submitted photos. They are very useful in the ad campaign. If you have photos of your wares, which we can use in ads for the show, please submit them along with your contract.

Again, our thanks to those of you who continue to support the Antique Festival. We are dedicated to continuing the success of the show and to bringing you more and more potential customers!!!

34th Annual

Antique Festival on the Green

2007

The Antique Festival has consistently been our most successful fundraiser because of all the hardworking people who make the event a great success.  The Society thanks the Committee chaired by Deb & Dave Lemieux, consisting of Peter & Trish Manfredi, Ellen Railies, Charles Deane and Joe Greene.  We also thank the approx. 70 volunteers, Facilities Committee, Booth item donators, festival patrons, Glastonbury Citizen, Glastonbury Fire Dept. Co. 1 for the great food, Laurel Gardens of Glastonbury, Town of Glastonbury and the show’s Antique Dealers. This year we netted $8,890 with over $5,000 coming from the Society Booth. The gate was down though, as it has been for the entire Antique Show industry.

Please join us next year for a great day of fun!
