The museum being open this Saturday is part of CT Office of Tourisms’ (a division of the Department of Economic & Community Development) annual one-day statewide event designed to showcase Connecticut’s diverse world of history, art, and tourism. This is a great way for residents to discover or rediscover all that is happening in Glastonbury and throughout the state.
Christmas in Glastonbury - Tour ten homes on Glastonbury's Old Main Street all decorated to reflect the elegance of Christmas past. Walk or drive - all sites are located along a stretch of less than a mile. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 day of event.
‘Tis the year 1796. Step into Joseph Welles’ taproom as a resident of Glastenbury. See who else visits tonight and hear what tales they may share. Partake of our victuals from 18th century “receipts”. Reservations required. $40.00
Hearth cooking class for kids 8 to 14, who prepare and enjoy a simple meal together. A variety of colonial toys and games will later be enjoyed. Reservations required. $20.00

Watch &/or become involved in activities that consumed our colonial ancestors’ day: cooking, spinning, weaving, quilting, washing clothes & other daily chores. View colonial tools & try your hand at rope making. Native American technology will also be demonstrated. Watch flint napping & try your skill at spear throwing using a prehistoric atladl. It is time to plant the vegetables that will nourish the family through the coming year. Glastonbury Partners In Planting will prepare the kitchen garden and visitors of all ages are encouraged to join in! Admission: $5.00
Residents of the town and surrounding towns are invited to our annual reception. Light refreshments will be served and the museum will be decorated for the season. All the Christmas decor throughout the museum is for sale and has been donated.
