This year the Historical Society is proud to welcome the art images of Glastonbury resident, Don Nedd.  A reception open to the general- public, Sunday, April 22, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The show will continue for one week during regular Museum hours, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and ending Saturday, April 28th, 10:00 a.m.

A Step Back In Time: A Journey To A Day In Colonial Living

Welles- Shipman-Ward House

 Watch &/or become involved in activities that consumed our colonial ancestors’ day: cooking, spinning, weaving, quilting, washing clothes & other daily chores. View colonial tools & try your hand at rope making. Native American technology will also be demonstrated. Watch flint napping & try your skill at spear throwing using a prehistoric atladl. Admission: $5.00.

Historic Glastonbury's 325th Anniversary Bus Tour

​On Sunday, May 20th, journey through 325 years of Glastonbury history. The narrated bus tour, which will start at the Riverside Community Center on Welles Street at 2:00 pm, will last approximately two hours. No walking is involved.

Hiking Through History.  Walk, Talk, and Dinner

The tour will be approximately ninety minutes followed by an optional dinner and a short slide show thru history at Olympic Pizza. Reservations are required. The walk, talk, and pizza dinner is $20. Walk alone $10.

Museum on the Green

 The museum being open this Saturday is part of CT Office of Tourisms’ (a division of the Department of Economic & Community Development) annual one-day statewide event designed to showcase Connecticut’s diverse world of history, art, and tourism. This is a great way for residents to discover or rediscover all that is happening in Glastonbury and throughout the state.

​Pig roast and seasonal vegetalbes prepared by farm chef in conjunction with a wine tasting (from Southside Wine and Spirit Shoppe). Followed by a tobacco farming (past and present) presentation topped off with a showing of Parrish, a film taking place in the tobacco fields of 1960s Connecticut

18th Annual Farm Day

HSG annually gives back to the town with this FREE family event attended by thousands. Kick off Glastonbury’s 325th anniversary by celebrating Glastonbury’s rich agricultural history. This fun-filled, family-oriented day includes intriguing colonial-era trade demonstrations, games, crafts and a petting zoo.

Green Cemetery / Museum on the Green

 Glastonbury speaks...from beyond the grave. The cemetery has been a town landmark for centuries and you may have even visited at one time or another. This visit will be special. Tickets are $20 per person. Tour is approx. 90 mins.

Christmas in Glastonbury - Tour ten homes on Glastonbury's Old Main Street all decorated to reflect the elegance of Christmas past. Walk or drive - all sites are located along a stretch of less than a mile. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 day of event.

 Residents of the town and surrounding towns are invited to our annual reception. Light refreshments will be served and the museum will be decorated for the season. All the Christmas decor throughout the museum is for sale and has been donated.
