The goal we all share is for future generations to have the opportunity to learn about and enjoy Glastonbury’s rich history. The Endowment Funds will help make that vision a reality.
The Historical Society of Glastonbury’s two endowment funds are designed to help meet the Society’s long-term needs by generating income while also preserving and growing the principle. They are specifically designed for donors who wish to make significant, (greater than $1,000), long-lasting donations. Contributions to the funds can be made at any time. They are also useful for “Legacy Gifts” or “Planned Giving Bequests” via one’s will or trust.
The Society has established two Endowment Funds:
•The HSG “Permanent Endowment Fund”
This fund is managed internally by the Society’s Finance Committee. Usable income from the fund is limited by our bylaws to the fund’s growth above CPIU inflation. To contribute, click Donate. Please specify “Permanent Endowment Fund” or contact the Society’s Executive Director at 860-633-6498 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
•The “Historical Society of Glastonbury Endowment Fund”
This fund is managed by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving specifically for the benefit of the Historical Society of Glastonbury. Yearly income of about 5% is distributed to the Society in February. Contributions to this “HFPG Designated Fund” can be made directly at the HFPG web site by clicking here or through the Society’s Executive Director at 860-633-6498 or via e-mail at email@example.com
